Job Title: PM Billing Specialist-CA, TX

Department: Billing Department

Reports To: Billing Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: Primary focus is on freight bill corrections and changes reported to Billing by using the source document, Bill of Lading (BOL) or Key Performance Indicators/Reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manually corrects or changes freight bill information in current data base

a. Process freight bill changes/corrections reported to Billing by Client Services, Daylight Service Centers, Credit & Collections, Sales, Customers, etc. prior to shipment being delivered

b. Process freight bill changes/corrections reported to Billing by Client Services, Daylight Service Centers, Credit & Collections, Sales, Customers, etc. after shipment has delivered

c. Work Key Performance Indicators and Reports listing shipments with discrepancies, errors, alerts, etc.

d. Truckload and some standard LTL freight bill entry

a. Knowledge in piece unit breakdown along with NMFC classification to ensure proper rating is applied

b. Ability to comprehend the Rules Tariff, Pricing, and Billing Notes associated with customer accounts

e. Answering internal Daylight phone calls

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) required. Minimum of one-year experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must possess analytical skills and ability to think quickly.

OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS - Computer literate, PC and mainframe; data entry, 10-key by touch, 35 wpm typing minimum, Excellent knowledge of MS Office
