Who are we looking for?
The Account Specialist will follow all processes in the pursuit of unpaid claims in a timely matter. Must be able to handle requests from payers and patients timely, must be familiar with PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Worker’s Compensation collections processes.
How much experience are you looking for?
You may be hired as an Associate Account Specialist, or an Account Specialist based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience.
What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.
The expected range for this role is $17.50-$22.00, hourly base compensation. Please note this range is an estimate; actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
What will you do?
- Follow up with Insurance companies, HMO & PPO, Worker’s Comp, and Government payors
- Check claim status on payor websites and Clearing Houses; phone & email communication with payors as needed
- Develop contact with insurance companies, review online capabilities & communicate any updates to Account Manager
- Update insurance information, patient demographics, missing information & document all communication in patient account notes
- Prep payor and patient correspondence and EOB’s to be worked
- Ensure appeals are completed accurately and timely
- Stay informed on changes pertaining to insurance companies & plans, contract terms & changes
- Handle paper billing, mailing, and special arrangement documentation
- Meet daily KPI’s, working appropriate queues, and assist in working backlog in Claims
What education and experience do you need?
A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered:
- High school diploma, bachelor’s degree Business, Finance, Healthcare IT/MGT preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite & ability to navigate multiple software programs
- Excellent organizational skills, multitasking & detail oriented
- Professional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
