Job Overview (What You’ll Do):
Cotopaxi is seeking an Accounts Payable Temp position to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.
Perfect for a recent Accounting or Finance grad, or a Junior/Senior working on an Accounting or Finance degree who wants to gain some real world experience in a growing organization.
This position will sit on the Finance Team, reporting to the Financial Controller, and will help make Cotopaxi a great company to do business with for our wholesale retailer and corporate customers.
Job Responsibilities (How You’ll Do It):
- Maintain all company credit card spend, vendor invoices, and expense reimbursements processes.
- Prepare journal entries and related transactions for company spend.
- Maintain accounts payable, billing platform, and approval matrix.
- Perform regular pay runs and manage related data for benefits and pay cycles.
- Maintain Cotopaxi’s vendor onboarding process.
- Respond to vendor questions and concerns.
- Perform monthly close procedures.
- Provide ad hoc data to budget owners.
- Prepare a weekly payables report for review with the CFO.
The Ideal Candidate (What You Need to Succeed):
- Currently working on (or recently completed) an Accounting or Finance degree.
- Completion of Intermediate Accounting 1 course.
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information.
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms. (NetSuite is a big plus.)
- Good written and verbal communication skills, especially as it relates to translating data.
