Description
Everyone has data, but do they tell a story?
The primary responsibility of the Analytic Consultant is to reveal the story behind the numbers, providing actionable insights to employers. By leveraging existing data assets, the Analytic Consultant:
- Interprets claim and leave patterns for some of the nation’s largest employers
- Produces compelling data visualizations and commentary to effectively educate policyholders on employee absence
- Provides context to observed trends
- Presents actionable insights for disability & leave management programs
The Analytic Consultant is an integral component for delivering value to Group Benefits policyholders. Skills required for success include a keen attention to detail, exceptional written and verbal communication, creative problem-solving, and innate curiosity.
Analytic Consultants are subject matter experts on book of business patterns, industry benchmarks, and current marketplace trends within health, disability, leave management, and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned book of business, consisting primarily of National Accounts, to provide annual analytic reviews, while serving as the primary point of contact for employer ad hoc requests and other reporting as needed
- Contextualize observed trends and confer with internal partners to develop solutions for improving lost productivity from employee absence
- Produce exceptional presentations that simplify data into concise, actionable insights to educate, and persuade
- Provide policyholders with supporting data necessary to make informed business decisions
- Present findings to both internal and external audiences (including policyholders, brokers, and leadership)
- Communicate expertise gained from marketplace and policyholder interactions to improve processes and products across the team and the broader GB division
- Travel: 5% (customer presentations are typically delivered telephonically but on-site presentations may be required)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in roles requiring data analysis, reporting, and data-driven decision making with a successful track record of effectively solving business challenges
- Experience with disability insurance or benefits consulting
- In-depth understanding of FMLA, ADA, PFL, and state leaves is preferred, but not required
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience presenting to leadership audiences
- Advanced MS PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Experience with Tableau is preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and satisfy scheduled deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$66,320 - $99,480
