We are searching for a detail oriented bookkeeping subcontractor who loves numbers (and people)! You need to have a high level of experience with Quickbooks Online, prificiency with Excel, and general accounting knowledge as well as the drive to learn more.
This role is for someone who is passionate about helping our clients organize, manage, understand, and grow their business. Our ideal candidate is highly skilled at self managing their tasks/schedule, a great communicator, responsive, eager to grow, and has experience working with a variety of clients and accounts simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
You will be assigned to maintain several client accounts, and it will be expected that you manage them regularly with quality care, attention to detail, and following necessary deadlines. You will have tasks that include daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly expectations. These may include:
- Assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages and deductions
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets and income statements
- Maintain the general ledger and perform general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
Also willing to step in and handle additional client tasks as they are requested: pulling documents for insurance audits, sending invoice reminders for unpaid invoices, assisting clients in syncing CRMs to Quickbooks to enhance their reporting, etc.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a clerk or assistant bookkeeper is preferred
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero
- Understanding of corporate accounting procedures and governmental accounting regulations is a plus
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations accurately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or discrepancies in financial records
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
