About Sandy Hook Promise
Sandy Hook Promise(SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving, evidence-informedKnow the Signsprevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. SHP is a moderate, bipartisan organization that supports sensible policy solutions that address the human side of gun violence and make schools safer.
SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

PositionSummary
The Associate Director, Staff Learning is an integral member of the People Team and is focused on SHP’s most valuable asset: our people. This individual will develop, manage, and facilitate programming trainings for SHP’s staff with support and guidance from the VP, People. This is a new position, and the individual will be responsible for developing training programs centered around management, leadership pipeline training, and other professional development topics as identified. An ideal candidate will have leadership development expertise and strong project and task management skills.
This position reports directly to the Vice President, People.
JobResponsibilities
- Develop, manage, and facilitate staff professional development programs based on identified organization needs, including all staff, manager-specific, and individual contributor specific trainings that keep in mind the organization’s commitment to race, equity, diversity, and inclusivity (REDI).
- Collaborate with leadership team members, specifically the VP, People, and other stakeholders to identify training and learning needs for the organization.
- Develop, manage, and facilitate trainings and objectives centered around REDI.
- Update trainings as needed, based on changing best practices.
- Identify and track key performance indicators related to the trainings.
- Work and collaborate with teammates from across the organization as necessary.
- Other duties as identified given organizational needs.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of designing effective trainings and professional development resources for adult learners
- Experience with designing learning around diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Highly collaborative individual that is willing to work across teams and make changes based on feedback
- Exceptionally strong project management and time management skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and development
- Previous experience successfully managing direct reports
- Passionate and knowledgeable about diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
- Passionate about people retention and development
Benefits and Salary Range
The salaryrange for this position is $80,000-$90,000. (New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start/middle of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity.)

Our organization operates within a distributed workforce,allowing for location flexibility across the countryfor most positions.We provideremote office supportfor all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly wifi reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
