Description
Inkblot Analyticsis a full-service market research firm specializing in the use of psychographics for better business advantages. So if you're interested in the intersection of psychology and assessment, you've come to the right place.
We are looking for a Part Time Associate Psychometrician to help design, test, refine and publish on various original psychological tests and scales.
This position is based on client demand. This means the number of hours you work may vary. Consequently, there are no guarantees as to how many hours you'll work per week or overall. Work can range from 0 hours some weeks to 20 hours during other weeks.
This position is 100% remote and does not have set days or hours to work. You can make your own schedule. Employees are given client deadlines and are expected to manage their time accordingly to meet those deadlines.
The Part Time Associate Psychometrician is RESPONSIBLE for the following:
- Write, review, and edit test items across different psychological constructs
- Analyze test items using factor analysis, item response theory and other psychometric analyses
- Able to design studies to prove scale/test validity and reliability
- Prepare internal and external reports to show scale/test reliability, validity, accuracy, and precision.
- Work with our data science team to develop new algorithms for evaluating psychological traits
- Create new psychological tests/assessments that go beyond traditional survey-based scales
- Advises clients on sound measurement practice
To perform the previously listed responsibilities, the part time Associate Psychometrician should have the following skills:
- Knowledge of measurement theory, test and survey construction and psychometric analysis of tests (e.g., item difficulty, item discrimination, scale reliability, scale validity, etc.).
- Previous experience with advanced topics in psychometrics--scaling, linking, equating, CAT item pool assembly, etc.
- Degree in psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, test assessment and evaluation, or related discipline
- Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (R required)
- Familiarity with software packages and programming languages commonly used in psychometric work or measurement research (e.g., WINSTEPS, IRTPRO).
- Excellent knowledge with at least one online survey platform
