I am a self-published romance author seeking a Manager to run the operations side of my business.

This is a part-time remote position offering up to 50 hours per month/12.5 hours per week. Hours and pay are likely to increase as I grow the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee business operations
• Ensure brand consistency
• Brainstorm ideas related to popular/trending tropes connected to plot lines, cover designs and marketing materials
• Constant development of strategies to increase sales and grow the business
• Seek networking opportunities
• Track releases and marketing efforts
• Basic bookkeeping via Quickbooks
• Monitor inbox and communicate with readers, and service providers.
• Cultivate a list of competent service providers that fall within budget and can meet the expectations of my brand, i.e. graphic designers, editors/proofreaders, voice talent, photographers, cover models, reviewers and influencers.
• Delegate responsibilities to other team members
• Travel with me to U.S. book signing events, if/when possible. All expenses will be paid.
• Avoid any involvement in “Book World” drama

Must be familiar with:

• The basic principles of business and accounting
• Indie Publishing Industry
• Social Media Marketing
• Writing ad copy
• Pre/Post book release cycles
• Navigating platforms such as Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble, Apple iBooks, Kobo and understanding their terms of service
• Review sites such as Goodreads and BookBub
• Analyzing industry trends and suggesting new strategies
• Running review teams and fan groups
• Communicating with vendors and service providers

Skills that are "Nice to Have" but not required:

• Graphic Design// Photoshop, Canva
• Web Design// Wordpress
• Editing/Proofreading// The Chicago Manual of Style
• Book Formatting// Vellum, InDesign
• Author Branding Experience
• Video Editing// CapCut, iMovie
• Photography

The ideal candidate:

• Located in the U.S.
• Works effectively and efficiently without supervision
• Decisive and capable of running with new ideas
• Creative/thinks outside the box
• Has a home office free of distractions and can participate in scheduled phone meetings
• Can firmly commit to 30-50 hours per month
• Is available between the hours of 9am and 8pm EST via text or messenger if I need to reach them
• Intends to grow with my business and collaborate with me on other industry related ventures.
• MUST NOT be actively pursuing a career in publishing or working with other authors (I *may* make exceptions for the right candidate)

*Bonus pay* after each new release. We will discuss the details.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
