- Must have general software development and problem solving skills.
- Have working knowledge of evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Must possess technical knowledge of the nuclear or mechanical discipline and an ability to work on project teams with other engineers.

Supporting a utility customer, upgrading part of their fleet to a higher power level. For their entire fleet moving from 18 month fuel cycles to 24 month fuel cycles. All of these roles would be supporting different aspects of those projects. CASMO supporting core design group, directly related to the lengthening of the fuel cycles. RETRAN supporting directly the licensing and accident analysis to be redone to support the new power plant. Working on updating an existing fleet of plants.
Skills:
core design methodology resport, core design code, regulatory guide 1.203, VSOP, ANC, Phoenix, CASMO, simulate, PWR, westinghouse core design
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- CASMO/SIMULATE core design engineer: not required to have been at a nuke plant but most likely will have a vendor or direct plant experience.
- Shouldn't be a leadership role, very much a hands on doing role. Shouldn't need a PE stamp. (no core design has ever needed one)
- Anyone who is implementing FRAMATONE fuel, will be based on casmo/simulate. Most of the utilities doing independent analysis from fuel vendors would be using casmo/simulate.
- Specifically asked for CASMO/SIMULATE experience.
- Not necessarily fuel design engineer, core design is a very focused, specification of the fuel assemblies and their placement within the reactor core.
- Want to see fairly recent experience.
- Would be open to looking at any amount of experience given the potential need for people to work independently.
- Would need to have some professional experience with the codes to be able to work independently and remotely.
