Description
Civil Engineer
Job Summary:
Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and Idaho P.E. license required (or ability to obtain Idaho P.E. license within 6 weeks).
This position can be located in Coeur d'Alene, ID or fully remote!
This role will create design plans for residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
Salary:
● Civil Engineer I: $60K - $72K (0-2 Year’s experience)
● Civil Engineer II: $70K - $87K (2-4 Year’s experience)
● Civil Engineer III: $85K - $107K (4-7 Year’s experience)
● Civil Engineer IV: $102K - $131K (7+ Year’s experience)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
● None
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Prepare construction plans, feasibility reports, cost estimates, drainage reports and other project documents with little supervision needed
● Coordinate with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit application
● Oversee of drafting design of grading plans, utilities, profiles, road design and details
● Research regulatory requirements, and design standards
● Perform detailed and complex calculations for storm water facilities, utility systems, and roadway improvements
● Work with drafters, designers, and administrative staff to complete projects in a timely manner and within budgets
● Determine the feasibility of a development project and assess the land to ensure that it can support the planned development.
● Design the infrastructure, including streets, utilities, waste management, drainage, and other systems by creating drawings or using modeling software to visualize your plans. You also coordinate with other architects and engineers involved in the project. A civil engineer must ensure that infrastructure plans meet zoning requirements and do not conflict with other municipal regulations.
● Plans projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
● Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure projects progress properly.
● Collaborate with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
● Monitor project progress and ensures design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
● Experienced with computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.
● Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of site development projects.
● Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to assigned projects.
● Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Ability to be both creative and analytical.
● Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
Education and Experience:
● Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
● Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
● 5 years' experience of civil site/land development/project management
Physical Requirements:
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
