Description:

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced security, cloud, software, or IT operations engineer with a passion for building secure-by-design applications to join the security architecture team.

This internal customer-facing role will primarily focus on creating, updating, and reviewing security architecture documents for cloud-based web and mobile applications, as well as facilitating their timely approval by the central cybersecurity team. While prior cybersecurity experience is helpful, it is not required – a strong foundation in cloud-based web application engineering or architecture coupled with strong decision-making abilities is ideal. In this role, you will be surrounded by a team who works together to collaboratively solve problems and help each other grow – nobody is expected to “carry the load” alone. Job duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Independently collaborating with internal customers to facilitate timely approval of their security architecture documentation (“Logical Technical Architecture”, LTA)
• Creating, updating, reviewing, and submitting for approval LTA documents
• Identifying and documenting security risks in application designs and proactively working with application owners to remediate these risks.
• Supporting application owners with existing risk acceptances in identifying opportunities to reduce or eliminate existing risks in their architectures.
• Supporting various risk and audit review processes as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in a cloud architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, or IT operations role.
• Prior experience working with a major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) as an architect, engineer (including operations/DevOps), or software developer.
• Minimum of one (1) certification on a major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Demonstrated ability to independently solve problems, manage workload, and make decisions on task priority.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including:

1. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers including solution owners, technical owners, architects, and developers.
2. Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.

• Strong technical and analytical aptitude, including:

1. Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze complex systems and provide recommendations on next steps to solve problems related to those systems.
2. Familiarity with the security threat landscape faced by large enterprises which implement public cloud platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Top candidates may also have one or more of the following:

• Cybersecurity certifications such as SANS/GIAC, ISC2 CISSP, CompTIA Security+, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of IT systems such as cloud platforms, web application development and operation, security engineering, or risk management, as demonstrated by 5+ years of experience and experience in one or more of these domains.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
