Communications Manager (New Health Care Company)

3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. This new Health Care Company will be a leading global diversified health technology company with:

We expect the creation of the two companies will be completed by the end of 2023. For now, we will continue to operate as one global company. This role is positioned to drive the success of the "New Health Care Company”.

The impact you will make in this role

As a Communications Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Create compelling and impactful executive messaging for Global Operations and Supply Chain (GOSC) Executive to ensure consistent and aligned communication across all internal communications. Develop key messages, talking points, speeches, and presentations for GOSC executive.
• Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies tailored to the organization goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and updates, translating complex supply chain concepts into clear and engaging communications.
• Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings and events to promote dialogue, share best practices, and address challenges within the operations and supply chain teams.
• Partner with leadership to ensure alignment of messaging and strategic goals across the healthcare organization.
• Recommend creative communications solutions, channels, and processes to effectively engage our plant and distribution center audiences.
• Contribute to the development of crisis communication plans and materials. Support executive in communicating effectively during challenging situations or reputation management incidents.
• Support Global Operations and Supply Chain in strategic planning and broader communications thereof.

Your Skills and Expertise

• To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university

OR

• High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of (16) years of experience in corporate communications, investor relations, financial communications and/or investment banking
• Ten (10) years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications and/or agency experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience in internal communications, preferably within a supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain operations and the ability to translate technical information into easily understandable communications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to write compelling and impactful content.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align communications with business objectives.
• Ability to translate complex information into easily understandable language.

As a Communications Manager, you will play a vital role in enhancing our company’s communication strategies, particularly focusing on Global Operations and Supply Chain messaging, content, and employee experience. You will collaborate closely with executive Global Operations and Supply Chain leadership to develop and deliver effective communications that align with our organizational goals and values and create a compelling vision for the future. In this role you will work to develop and implement a strategy to effectively communicate with the Global Operations and Supply Chain organization.

The expected compensation range for this position is $155,615 - $190,196, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
