Computer Science Instructor

We are seeking an energetic and experienced instructor to join our team on a part time, online basis! As an instructor, you will lead a class of high school students through a successful term defined by the school, creating and/or implementing a comprehensive educational curriculum for the content related to Computer Sciences, such as AP Computer Science courses, Algorithm, and/or training for USA Computing Olympiad . Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching!

Responsibilities:

• Plan a classroom curriculum that meets the specific goals and standards
• Encourage the development of students’ critical thinking skills
• Prepare or follow guidelines to assign any necessary learning materials
• Assign homework
• Take attendance
• Grade assignments and provide feedback
• Document students’ learning progress
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrative and support personnel to create a healthy and safe learning environment
• Report and document behavioral incidents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Sciences or related fields
• Previous experience teaching at the k-12 level is preferred
• Understanding of learning principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Knowledge of classroom guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
