Job Description
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on a Data Analyst joining our team to support our continued growth. The primary responsibilities for this role will be to analyze best practices and recommendations for business operations, perform data analysis using various techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining), provide business data interpretation, work with the internal and external customers to identify analytical requirements and support ad hoc data and reports.

This individual will perform data analysis tasks such as pre-processing and cleansing, ensure data can be effectively analyzed and processed and conduct data validation.
HOW A DATA ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Design and implement data processes, using advanced programming in SAS, SQL, and other programming languages (Python, Java, R, etc.), to manage and analyze large data sources.
- Identify and analyze opportunities for innovation in building data processes and developing data models to improve operational quality, efficiency, and data accuracy.
- Perform rigorous review of all products to ensure quality prior to delivery.
- Prepare reports, charts, tables, and other visual analytics to assist customers in understanding analytic results.
- Develop comprehensive technical and customer documentation of data analytic processes.
- Support teams leading complex projects using artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), and software development.
- Support analyses related to CMS regulations and policies related to the Medicare requirements.
- Provide data analysis support of big data projects using unstructured and structured text data and developing algorithms to process and analyze it.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance of analytic code.
- Work individually and collaboratively to accomplish project objectives and tasks.
- May communicate directly with customers and partners to facilitate project work.
- Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in a math, computer or scientific discipline.
- 3+ years of related data analysis experience.
- Programming experience in at least one data analytics software package (e.g., SAS, Python, Java or R).
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with Agile development frameworks/lifecycles.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to accept and incorporate constructive feedback.
- Good organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience in healthcare claims data is considered a plus.
- Experience with data analysis for AI/ML/NLP projects.
- Experience with version control (i.e., Git) and popular code version platforms (Github.com or Gitlab).
