Job Description:
We are hiring for full time or part time employment. All positions are temporary positions, for no less than 2 months and no more than 6 months.
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs a variety of clerical duties related to input, maintenance and control of medical and dental claims.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Receives and inputs information for medical and dental claims under health and dental plans for payment set-up.
- Reviews claims for accuracy and completeness.
- Follows established procedures as necessary to resolve discrepancies and deviations.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Experience:
Education and Experience
High School diploma and six months of experience performing related clerical duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specific experience in data entry, is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required technical skills include the working knowledge and ability of:
- Various office management systems related to alpha and numeric record keeping.
- 10-key of 8,000 key strokes per hour.
- Typing of 35 words per minute.
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite.
Required mathematical skills include working knowledge of:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and discounts and percentages.
Required knowledge of:
- Some knowledge of claims adjudication policies, procedures, and processes.
- Basic Medical terminology.
- Data communication concepts.
Must have the ability to:
- Analyze a variety of routine claims management issues and problems to make routine corrections.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Document information accurately and succinctly.
- Prioritize work.
- Perform within deadlines.
- Work well independently as well as in a team environment.
- Multi-task by handling a variety of duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Follow through with assignments.
- Deal effectively with stress caused by workload and time deadlines.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
The incumbent must always demonstrate judgment, high integrity, and personal values consistent with the values of URS.
Work Environment
Incumbent performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require a variety of physical activities which do not generally involve muscular strain, but do require activities related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform essential functions.
