How will this role have an impact?
The Director, UX will be responsible for driving the design strategy and portfolio for the Home and Community Care Services division of the Signify Health platform. This work includes driving user experience/design strategy, in partnership with the broader Signify design community, while also owning the tactical design for a number of strategic initiatives and workflow tools, as well as data visualization/reporting. This position will also advise on User Experience as a key strategy for the entire organization. This will involve partnering closely with Product Leadership using User Centered Design techniques to drive strategy and requirements for new projects as well as enhancing existing features and services. These efforts will need to be planned around Quarterly Planning ceremonies so they are delivered when they can generate the most valuable impact.
The Director will promote and evolve the standards, processes and best practices within the young UX team for the HCS Division. This position will grow and mature a team in Q4 and 2024 to meet the needs of an active product pipeline in alignment with broader organizational strategy around design. UX Team leadership and the ability to communicate the value of Design to Product Leadership is incredibly important.
Signify uses an internal Design System called Carbonate. The Director of UX will partner with Product to identify when legacy apps can/should be "Carbonated" so that the conversion does not deliver a fractured experience to the user nor up-end the product roadmap.
This position is a tireless advocate for the end-user, and leads the organization through the continued evolution of our research methods and design delivery. This highly visible role will be accountable for strong results and will have ample opportunities to make a significant impact on the daily lives of our users and our business.
Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of experience design methods, processes and approach
Responsible for developing the overall strategy, planning, prioritization and execution for the end-user experience for the Episode Division
Evolve the design methodologies and processes that will be used in the design and development lifecycle, integrating with the Agile delivery model
Grow, mentor and build a high performing team of skilled user experience professionals
Promote overall competence in design research, innovation, and strategy
Work with marketing, product management, and technology teams to define and execute on the end-to-end consumer experience
Identify measurable UX metrics that deliver an ROI to the organization and communicate them effectively
Infuse the culture with a consumer first, design thinking mindset
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Advanced Degree preferred
- An equivalent combination of experience and training/certification may be considered instead of a degree
Experience Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in UX, Visual Design and user research
- 5+ years of Enterprise UX Leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Knowledge of complex Enterprise Business applications with compliance constraints
- Ability to recruit, train, and provide professional development for a high performing team
- Ability to serve as a "hands on" leader and a willingness to lead by example, doing the work yourself if necessary
- Experience working in a software product company, driving design from planning to release over multiple releases
- Strong responsive web design experience
- Solid understanding of modern web interface technologies, and their impact on Design
- Expertise across all aspects of user experience, including UX strategy, interaction design, user research/assessment, prototyping, visual design, and production delivery
- Experience leading teams in implementing a Design System and/or component libraries
- Understand UX research methods and practices
- Deep knowledge of interaction and visual designs best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable presenting to and communicating with senior management
- Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
