Bob Kaufman, the founder of Bob's Discount Furniture, shares his unique approach to becoming an industry disruptor before that concept was cool. Kaufman became an industry disruptor after what turned out to be a happy motorcycle accident. His doctor recommended that he get a waterbed, so he set out to the furniture stores and was bombarded with shady pricing and gimmicks. Eventually, he couldn’t take it anymore and went on to found Bob’s Discount Furniture, providing customers with everyday low prices, gimmick-free. Bob’s Discount Furniture has over 100 locations across the United States and online at www.mybobs.com. Headquartered in Manchester, Connecticut, Bob's has been in business for over 26 years and has long-standing relationships with numerous manufacturers to provide stylish pieces so you can furnish your living room, dining room, bedroom, and entire home with the look you want for less. While customers are shopping they can enjoy the on the house Bob’s Cafe that has ice cream, sweet treats and gourmet coffee. In the Cafe of each store is also a life-size statue of Little Bob that collects donations from customers. Each quarter, Bob’s matches the thousands of dollars collected and gives it directly to a chosen non-profit. This year, Bob’s selected the Special Olympics, Autism Speaks, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, and Pajama Program to be the recipients of the Cafe Collection donations. Through the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation and Bob’s Outreach, the company also supports their communities by providing $2.75 million yearly to hundreds of nonprofits.

Giving back to the local community has been a priority for me ever since I opened the doors to my very first Bob’s back in 1991. The mission of Bob’s Outreach program is to help children and families thrive! With the help of my dedicated employees, we support hundreds of nonprofit organizations with sponsorships and charitable contributions, each and every year. Through the Outreach Program and Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation, Bob's donates more than $100,000 to schools and close to $3 million dollars to charities a year! And I couldn’t do this without your help and donations collected through my Café Collections for a Cause program.
