The Role
Donorbox is looking for an Email Deliverability Expert to monitor and configure our support, marketing, sales, and app emails for maximum deliverability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our sender reputation, optimizing email templates for various devices and clients, minimizing email churn between program touchpoints, and ensuring compliance with international email regulations. This role requires technical expertise in email deliverability, marketing automation platforms, and email marketing tools.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance sender reputation by adhering to best practices, SPF/DKIM/DMARC/BIMI configuration, and other industry standards.
- Mitigate email between program touchpoints to minimize database churn. This includes marketing campaigns, triggered emails, promotional emails, and transactional emails.
- Maintaining the quality of the marketing database (de-duplication and enrichment).
- Ensure that all email templates are optimised for various devices and email clients, delivering a consistent user experience across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Perform render testing across devices, email clients, and ISPs to ensure that emails are rendering correctly for the majority of the subscriber base.
- Implement bounce handling processes to manage both soft and hard bounces effectively and update email lists accordingly.
- Diagnose and resolve email deliverability issues promptly, including identifying the root causes of email bounces, blacklisting, or email filtering problems.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to segment email lists for better targeting and engagement, reducing the likelihood of emails being marked as spam.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in email deliverability
- Detailed knowledge of email regulations, best practices, and compliance internationally in various regulatory regimes (e.g.,CAN-SPAM, GDPR or CASL).
- Hands-on experience in marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, ActiveCampaign and Lemlist.
- Understanding of how email filters work, including Bayesian filters, content filters, and machine learning algorithms used by email service providers.
- Familiarity with email marketing tools, ESPs, and email deliverability monitoring tools such as Email On Acid, MailReach, etc.
- Experience with SMTP relay services like SendGrid, Mailchimp, or others, including setup and configuration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
