Description
Duties
As a Energy Technology Program Specialist, you will:
- Serve as a project manager for the Office responsible for a wide variety of highly complex energy efficiency and renewable energy projects/programs.
- Interpret, analyze, and implement the impact of new and proposed legislation, Executive Orders and other regulations on energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.
- Develop systems and procedures to enable the energy efficiency and renewable energy program to meet statutory requirements and Departmental goals and objectives effectively and efficiently; advise supervisor and field activities on unusual, difficult, or controversial energy efficiency and renewable energy matters.
- Review, monitor, and report expenditures to management; design and implements innovative funding mechanisms, prizes, and events to advance solar energy deployment programs.
- Assist in the evaluation of program impacts in the solar energy sectors and make recommendations and develop solutions or improvements in approaches in the deployment of the activities.
- Oversee the coordination and interaction with other internal offices and other Federal agencies as well as with public and private interest groups in implementing energy technology projects or programs.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Preparing and coordinating clean energy interconnection applications.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to improve the interconnection of clean energy resources to the grid; and
- Analyzing the effects of processes, policies, or technologies to improve interconnection of clean energy resources to the grid.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
