Lead Controller – Generalist

What You’ll Do:

The primary objective of the Controller role is to oversee accounting operations and provide financial information about client company’s activities that will assist the client and its shareholders in making important financials, strategic and operational decisions. This is a advisory position that requires a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, offering depth of experience to our clients in the fast-paced start-up world. This position reports to the Divisional Controller.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities also include:

· Primary responsibility and ownership for overall engagement and relationship with the client

· Oversee the monthly close process, including accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reporting and internal and external monthly financial statements.

· Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements

· Create and nurture partnerships across functional roles within our organization including our OneShore team located in India

· Review and approve client compliance schedule

· Review and oversee client onboarding process to ensure we meet and exceed client expectations

· Review and approve client accounting policies & procedures, including: accounting/ERP system selection/implementation, treasury management, revenue recognition policy, capitalization policy, prepaid expense policy, travel & reimbursement policies

· Develop and mentor finance and accounting team members

· Identify opportunities for up-sell/cross-sell and collaborate with Business Development team members

· Manage relationships with vendors, banks, corporate credit cards, and merchant processors

· Oversee the tax return process, including the preparation of tax packages for our tax team

· Managing the audit process, including ownership of PBC list and facilitating requests from audit firm

What You’ll Bring:

Must Haves:

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required

· 7+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment

· 2+ years of start-up experience

· Exceptional Leadership and team management skills, preferably globally focused with experience working with offshore teams

· Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills

· Ability to be a trusted advisor to our clients

· Ability to multi-task efficiently in a remote work environment

· High attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet strict deadlines

· Advanced knowledge of Excel, Quickbooks Online, Netsuite and Microsoft suite

Nice to Haves:

· CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred

Your final base salary and total compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and credentials. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider of our current team members as a part of any final offer. The full base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000.
