Freelance Proofreader/Editor

Responsibilities:

- Edit and proofread various types of written content, including articles, blog posts, reports, and more
- Ensure that all content adheres to the appropriate style guide, such as the Chicago Manual Style or client-specific guidelines
- Conduct thorough fact-checking to verify the accuracy of information presented in the content
- Collaborate with writers and other team members to ensure a high standard of quality in the final product
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement to writers to enhance the overall quality of their work
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications:

- Strong command of the English language with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
- Proficiency in various writing styles, including journalistic, technical, creative, and copywriting
- Familiarity with word processing software and editing tools
- Attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in written content
- Strong research skills to verify information and ensure accuracy
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with writers and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Note: Experience in proposal writing is a plus.

We offer competitive compensation for freelance editors based on project complexity and turnaround time. This is a remote position that provides flexibility in working hours.
