Job Summary
The Human Resources Technician performs a wide range of functions in the Minnesota Merit System (MMS) office and provides a wide variety of functions to support a human resource management/merit system for Minnesota county human services agencies. The position creates, updates and maintains MN County agency employee information in the Merit System database.
Responsibilities include:
- Records and updates employee records and county salary plans to ensure compliance with Merit System rules and regulations (FYI - counties don’t fall under MMB rules)
- Electronic filing in EDMS.
- Coordination and processing of applications entered into the NEOGOV applicant tracking system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience performing paraprofessional, clerical or technical duties in a human resources office within a large organization (1000+ employees).
Experience must include:
- Experience working with a Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.
- Performing a variety of administrative program support functions that includes application and interpretation of statute, policies and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working with NeoGov or similar human resources software sufficient to maintain an accurate employment record and process reporting requests;
- Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
