THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position Summary:
Tidal Basin is seeking qualified candidates for the Individual Assistance Case Manager position supporting our client and applicants impacted by disaster events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Implement and coordinate the Individual Assistance Programs, to include emergency sheltering, short term housing, emergency feeding programs, other needs assistance (ONA) and other FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) programs.
- Perform intake, assessments, gather documents to establish disaster program eligibility including payments and withdrawals/denials.
- Manage, review, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate eligibility determinations.
- Coordinate eligibility and payments through the Federal Disaster System, where applicable
- Conduct review of cases to ensure proper processing.
- Mediate complex problem resolution.
- Function as a liaison and applicant advocate
- Maintain a high standard of privacy and confidentiality to protect client information.
- Provide resources and referrals to clients to meet their disaster-related unmet needs.
- Provide assistance to applicants throughout the application process.
- Maintain client-related data systems, including case notes and a complete system of record entries.
- Review and analyze data reports, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with a team
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and a desire to adhere to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others, awareness of the impact of a disaster on the community, family, and individual.
- Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Individual shall possess 0-1 years of experience as a member of a state or federal recovery operation, or equivalent experience commensurate with the ability to perform the necessary duties.
- Basic knowledge of the FEMA Disaster Case Management Program is desirable
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Adobe Acrobat
