IT Wiring & Install Technician

The Company assigns our Technicians uniforms and a company vehicle after initial training. Loaded with various IT supplies, the company vehicle is used to visit appointments generated by our dispatch operations center. Through their customer visits our technicians service afull range of telecommunications products and services in a fast-paced and professional manner. There is an expectation for working efficiently on your own and within teams of other technicians.
Salary for the position advances with knowledge and experience. The role is expected to perform successfully with and without direct supervision.

Core Installation Technician Responsibilities
- Fundamentals include Internet installation and troubleshooting, inside telephone PBX & hosted system installations, telephone line and jack repair, network maintenance, and computer work
- Routinely setting up and configuration of wireless routers, Ethernet switches, and other common telecommunications equipment, and pulling new wire runs.
- Proactively identify customer dissatisfaction and any customer pain-points with prompt relay back to the office team that manages the account.
- Maintain an accurate, organized and up to date truck inventory making full use of our computer systems
- Thoroughly document each visit through the company’s CRM
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate verbal communications to customers
- Demonstrate the use of business phone features when needed.
- Always display a professional demeanor, both with customers and co-workers.
- Adapt to changing priorities, adopt modern technology and implement process improvement methods.
- Communicate mannerly with our customers on each visit.
- Perform some miscellaneous lifting, packing, unpacking, and general operational duties.
Core Education, Experience, Abilities & Skills
- Associates degree, applicable military training, or some degree of continued education or training after high school.
- Demonstrated strong technical abilities
- Comfortable communicating with customers
- Exposure to telecommunications in general. This may include prior telecom work experience, or you may simply be a fan and heavy user of wireless, IM, or other communications methods, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot client configurations identifying failures followed by developing and executing a repair plan with little or no guidance.
- Maintain a Valid Driver’s License
- Proficient in the use of PC desktop computersincluding the expertise with commonly available software such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to work in the Pittsburgh market weekdays approximately 8:00 a.m. and continuing to 5:00 p.m., with the position requiring extra time to support larger installs on evenings or weekends.
- Comfortable with wearing professional uniform
- If you lack Telecom experience, then we require a demonstrated ability and genuine desire to learn innovative technology.

Starting Salary $24.00 to $26.00 per hour based on any prior experience with merit increases. $750. onboard bonus! (Paid in stages over time. See offer letter)
