Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Lucas came to Senior Dog Haven from another rescue. He was found outside starving and wandering in circles. Upon intake his care included weight gain, an echocardiogram, and overall just getting him healthy from his past neglect.
He did have a dental prior to coming to Senior Dog Haven.
He had an echocardiogram that showed mild mitral valve stenosis and pulmonary hypertension which is being treated with 2 medications: enalapril and vetmedin. These medications will cost approximately $60/month.

He is around 15 years old and is a big fan of napping. He also enjoys his meals and wandering around in the yard getting some fresh air. His best home would be a fairly laid back adult home who would enjoy giving a special senior a soft place to land.
