Description
The Marketing Assistant will support the Associate Publisher and Associate Director of Marketing of four nonfiction imprints on a wide range of promotional projects.
Portfolio, Sentinel, Optimism, and Thesis publish internationally recognized economists, journalists, educators, CEOs, media personalities, and movement starters. Recent and forthcoming authors of note include Ryan Holiday, Simon Sinek, Oprah Winfrey, Arthur C. Brooks, Vivian Tu, Morgan Housel, Shane Parrish, Brian Kilmeade, Steven Bartlett, Indra Nooyi, Coleman Hughes, and many more. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides daily administrative support for the Associate Publisher and Associate Director of Marketing, including submitting expense reports, ordering books, processing invoices, and liaising with warehouse, mailroom, and copy center teams.
- Supports the marketing department, including coordinating meetings, updating budgets, monitoring the department inbox and organizing mailings.
- Works closely with Editorial, Publicity, Sales, and Marketing to update key materials and databases.
- Researches and circulates weekly sales data for relevant titles.
- Available to travel to the office weekly to complete marketing mailings and other necessary in-office responsibilities.

- Strong organizational and communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interest in book publishing, especially nonfiction.
- Lives within the New York City area / commuting distance to the office.
- Comfort with true hybrid work (comprising both digital and in-person work).
- Comfort working on a team and collaborating closely with team members.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
The salary for this position is $48,000.00 All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus subject to company results.
