Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Online Course Developer is responsible for the creation and organization of LMS-based content used in online course development. The position requires organizational skills and attention to detail. The position requires skilled communication with faculty members, academic departments, Development and Support Team members, student workers, and other course development and support teams across the university.

The eCampus Center is looking for an Online Course Developer to join our team! The eCampus Center is dedicated to expanding the online offerings of Boise State University to meet the academic needs of students anytime, anywhere.
This position may have the opportunity to work remotely where all work is performed from an alternative work location either within or outside the State of Idaho.
Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:
- Develop course content and materials in accordance with course and program design specifications.
- Oversee that all course development compliant with rules and regulations such as ADA.
- Ensure all projects are monitored and delivered in a timely manner.
- Provide progress reports and analytics to projects.
- Perform managerial work around hiring and training student workers..
- Performs ongoing research into appropriate quality standards and implementation of new technologies to improve the development and delivery of online courses.
- Provide consultations with faculty and Instructional Design Consultants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience working with a content management or other information systems.
- Experience with metadata, tagging, or other organization tools
- An understanding of Open Educational Resources
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards
- Working knowledge of research design and processes (Quantitative, Qualitative, Mixed-methods)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of demonstrated experience building courses and content in Canvas.
- Experience creating accessible, interactive content.
- Understanding of instructional design principles.
Salary and Benefit s:
Starting salary of $52,000/yr, commensurate with experience.
