Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as a Project Manager II!

About the role

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for the initiation, planning and delivery of Division projects considered medium risk, typically under 12 months in duration and with budgets ranging from $100,000 - $1 million. You'll have multiple customers and stakeholders across various departments and functions, a moderately sized project team (possibly in multiple locations), external partners or vendors, and a moderately complex technology component.

Your responsibilities

• Develop project structure, detailed schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Assemble resources and manage the project team so that project objectives are delivered within time, scope, quality or budget constraints.
• Provide process mapping and/or Service Blueprinting services as project and time allows.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and deliver quality results that meet Customer expectations.
• Actively manage risks, issues and concerns throughout the project lifecycle and employ effective change control processes.
• Review project deliverables for accuracy and provides assistance and mentoring to others.
• Work independently, while influencing and managing project teams, sub-teams and subject matter experts to develop project schedules and assist in implementing new ideas or process improvements

What you'll do in this role

• You will create and maintain project deliverables such as project charter, project plan, status reports, project timesheets, estimates, communication plan, reports, risk management plan, budget, and milestone/deliverables charts
• You will manage project issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within cost and time requirements
• You will develop new project solutions or create new perspective to existing project solutions
• You will clearly communicate project status and metrics with all Stakeholders affected by the project as well as
• Corporate Governance and the Executive Management team.
• Engage with other teams across the company to influence projects, build relationships, encourage decision making and help identify or optimize existing processes

Compensation

Salary Range: $80,500- $134,200 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Your education, skills and experience

• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience
• Project Management Certificate, preferred
• 3-5 years of business/industry work experience
• 2-5 years of leadership experience
• 3-5 years managing projects utilizing a formal project methodology, techniques and tools
• Demonstrated experience in teambuilding and leading teams
• Knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written with the ability to influence others to reach a successful conclusion
