Description
Company: Berman Purchasing provides Furniture Fixtures & Equipment procurement services to the hospitality, multi-family, and senior living industry segments.
Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Job Description: The purchasing agent maintains the purchasing process by expediting orders, verifying shipments, logging updates, and troubleshooting potential delays.
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE minimum of 2 years experience purchasing FF&E for hospitality or interior design sectors. OTHER INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Duties:
- Plans work by independently gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents.
- Follows up on purchase orders after they are issued
- Confers with transportation, logistics and warehouse personnel to track orders and reconcile deliveries
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing vendor or merchandise information
- Updates project spreadsheet information by inputting, formatting, copying, and transmitting data into Excel.
- Keeps information accessible by uploading, scanning, sorting and filing documents electronically.
- Creates project tracking spreadsheets in excel and ensure formulas are correct
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Sense of urgency regarding project timelines and schedule.
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Excellent Communication, Organization, Planning, Customer Service, and Documentation Skills required.
Must be a self starter and able to work independently in a remote environment.
High school degree required
Post high school degree is a plus
