About The Role
Employment type: W2 Exempt
Level: Mid-level, Associate
Location: Accepting applications for candidates presently based in Texas. Frogslayer utilizes a flexible hybrid approach model, this role is remote-eligible.
Compensation: Base salary: $60k to $90k base salary, eligible for variable performance bonuses. Overall compensation for this role will be based on the candidate's experience, potential for contribution, and scope of role.
Frogslayer is looking for a manual quality assurance tester to be an integral part of the firm’s quality assurance team. While you don’t need to be an absolute expert at software testing, the ideal candidate is a versatile, rigorous problem solver and information sponge that enjoys a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. You enjoy breaking and figuring out how software systems work and have a proven commitment to quality.
At Frogslayer, our client base exists across a broad range of industries and types of products. As such, you will be engaged in a variety of projects and applications that include web, desktop, mobile and embedded systems. Your primary role will be the design, creation and execution of manual functional test cases and the conversion of those into automated test suites to ensure quality software, mitigate risk, and prevent issues.
Role Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Understand of the QA process and overall lifecycle of software development.
- Review and analyze the software requirements and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the project goals and functionality.
- Participate in and become an active voice in the daily team meetings and weekly demos Comparing design wireframes against web/app standards
- Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
- Create & execute test plans to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Prioritize test cases based on business impact and risk assessment.
- Prioritize test-related tasks
- Test software against functional, regression, integration, UI, smoke, exploratory, API testing & nonfunctional requirements ((i.e. security, compatibility, performance).
- Perform regression testing to ensure the stability of the software after code changes.
- Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring that they are resolved and retested before the release.
- Log and track critical/major/minor bugs in JIRA/Azure dev ops.
- Respond to and track issues raised by clients and effectively communicate with causes for deviations.
- Troubleshoot and explore web and mobile applications on a daily basis.
- Review historical, existing, and ongoing bug reports to identify areas requiring specific attention.
- Track progress against assigned goals and regularly report status to QA manager and project manager/team.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all testing activities, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
Qualifications:
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and responsible.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate testing results and findings to clients and team members.
- Excellent time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify potential issues and risks.
- Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning new things.
- Ability to work both as independent QA and on a wide variety of teams.
- Able to execute other duties as assigned.
