Adopt Red!

Breed: American Pitbull Terrier Mix

Age: 2-3 years old

Red is a handsome medium-sized dog with a muscular build and a short, shiny coat. He has expressive brown eyes and a happy grin that lights up his face. He is always smiling!

Red was rescued last summer from a high-kill shelter in Texas when the shelter ran out of room - and Red’s time was up. We were happy to have the opportunity to step in and save this sweet guy. He was then adopted by a family in NY, but unfortunately, his family is now moving to a small apartment in the city and cannot bring Red with them. His family has noted that Red loves the yard - and loves to be outside - and that an apartment would do him a disservice - so, we are now looking for a new home for Red that we hope will be his final move.

Red is a fun-loving, friendly dog who is great with children. He currently lives with a small child and is very gentle and well behaved with him, Red is very social and loves to be around people. Red is also an active dog who enjoys exercise and playtime. He would do well with a family who has an active lifestyle and who is willing to provide him with plenty of opportunities to exercise.

Red is good with other dogs, but has been living as a single dog. He would do well with another dog in the home - but he would also be fine living alone!

Red would love a big fenced-in backyard where he can run and play. He is not suitable for apartment living and would do best in a home with a large outdoor space for him to explore.

Despite the fact that Red would love a backyard to enjoy and stretch his legs - Red can also settled and relax on the couch (his favorite spot). He enjoys chewing Benebones and snuggling up next to his people.

Red is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, and he has been neutered.

Red is currently located in NY, but can be transported to hie forever home in state or out of state.
