Remote Junior Backend Developer

The Junior Back End Developer at We Inform LLC is a results-oriented, collaborative, analytical and growth-minded individual who works hands-on alongside our dynamic Software Development Team. They continuously strive to expand and develop our consumer ecommerce platforms and websites. They have an in-depth understanding of back end development, and are able to design solutions to complex applications problems, or network concerns. They have a proven track record, and a passion for learning new tools and technologies and identifying system improvements. This position requires multitasking on various projects and scheduling tasks.

We work in an environment simulating a virtual office. For half of the work day, a developer will be in a virtual meeting where their video/audio is shared. They can see all of the other developers and interact real time to ask questions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Participating in the complete software development process from conception to deployment.
• Maintaining and upgrading the software following deployment.
• Creating server-side code focused on improving the technical architecture.
• Integrating data from various back-end services and databases.
• Managing the end-to-end life cycle for back end software and applications.
• Modifying and testing changes to previously developed programs.
• Evaluating code to ensure that it is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with applicable browsers, devices, or operating systems.
• Documenting test plans, testing procedures, and test results.
• Recommending and implementing performance improvements.
• Maintaining understanding of current technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ year(s) experience in Software Development.
• Masters and Bachelors in Computer Science Degree.
• Back-end technology: Experience in back-end technologies, including Typescript, NodeJS, Express and MongoDB.
• Basic familiarity with MEAN stack.
• Familiarity with the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Modern web development best practices and atomic design principles.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• B2B or B2C subscription experience preferred.
• Agile development experience preferred.
• Ability to work both strategically and hands-on alongside your team.
• Strong critical thinking with urgency and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable building reports and analyzing large sets of data across website and marketing channels with a highly analytical view.
