Description
A leading aerospace & defense contractor is seeking a skilled and experienced internal communications expert to begin as soon as possible. This role will work closely with the Vice President of HR & Internal Communications, providing strategic guidance and tactical support for the organization's internal communications efforts during a transitional period.
The ideal candidate brings expertise, experience and internal communications leadership, with a demonstrated ability to lay the foundation for a robust internal communications function. This role will play a pivotal part in elevating the internal communications team to a strategic business partner, aligning with the organization's overarching goals.
Key Responsibilities
· Help develop the strategy, approach, and strategic messaging framework for internal and executive communications
· Conceptualize, create, and implement communications plans and deliverables to advance the company’s internal communications priorities
· Support companywide change management initiatives
· Develop an integrated communication plan that utilizes multiple modes for delivery (email, internal portal, plasmas, social media – LinkedIn, etc)
· Craft compelling content to drive the communication plan
· Facilitate and delegate execution tasks to internal communications team members and external contractors
· Provide recommendations for enhancing the internal communications org structure
· Establish and refine standard work to elevate the communications function to best-in-class standards
· Analyze and refine internal communication metrics to measure engagement, usability, and impact to the organization
· Collaborate on the execution of a quarterly global executive leadership meeting, coordinating with external communications, creative, and IT teams
Ideal Candidate
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, and 15 years of prior related experience (corporate communications, public relations agency or journalism preferred) or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in communications
· Experience leading an internal communications team with proficiency in change management, communications strategy, employee communications, and project management
· Strategic thinker with the ability to provide counsel and thought partnership to senior leadership
· Demonstrated experience with communication planning including setting objectives, strategies, and action plans, and measuring results.
· Innovative approach to communications, extending beyond traditional methods
· Can provide both attention to detail and strategic vision while maintaining executive presence
· Ability to quickly grasp complex topics; synthesize and distill concepts for various audiences.

· Job Type: Part-time, Contractor | 20-40 hours/week with potential to expand
· Timing: Short-term engagement | Start Immediately | Ends TBD (start, with a 3-month term and the possibility of extension)
