Software Developer II

Responsibilities:

We are recruiting for an experienced Software Developer II, with strong java development skills. This role will be in support of a large DoD program classified enterprise system.
This individual will be:

• Developing use cases and supporting material required for documenting functional requirements
• Developing software using Java, Spring MVC, JSP, EJB and third party APIs to interact with an Oracle database and web services
• Strong SQL scripting and ability to write scripts
• Working with an Oracle DBA to create/update stored procedures and design/update database table structure
• Developing JUnit unit tests
• Working with tester team to correct software defects
• Assisting in troubleshooting user reported issues

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizen and hold an active/current DOD Secret clearance or be able to obtain.
• The candidate must live within a commutable distance from Herndon, VA and Ft. Belvoir, VA. Relocation may be considered based on candidate’s skill set level. Although this position is telecommute, infrequent day trip to Herndon and Ft. Belvoir is required.
• BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2, HS 8-10
• Experience in full lifecycle software development
• Experience with Java, EJB, Spring MVC
• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle preferred)
• Solid interpersonal, communications, and writing skills
• Experience with software source control and defect tracking tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with XML and Web services
• Experience with web-based application servers and frameworks
• Agile development experience and certification
• Experience working in a CMMI environment following established process, contributing to process improvement

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
