Description
UDC has an immediate need for several mid to intermediate level Software QA Testers (levels I-III) to work with the project teams to develop and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and reports to ensure that the software is functioning correctly.
What you will do:
- Review user requirement documents to ensure that requirements are testable
- Prepare data sets to test logic, effort handling, and system workflows
- Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports to ensure that software functions as expected
- Perform testing on various software, utility systems and reporting systems
- Isolate, reproduce, and document system defects
- Verify fixes
- Document test execution and results according to required procedures
- Track testing progress and results against numerous working scenarios for a single testable requirement
- Work with development team to determine the most effective testing and inspection strategy for projects of varying complexity and size
- Track and manage test environment configurations for accurate and effective testing results
What we look for from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Geography, Computer Science, IT)
- Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in a QA Tester role (minimum experience required will depend on QA Tester level, I-III)
- Familiarity with software development life cycle and quality assurance methodologies
- Experience with GIS software tools and applications, both desktop and web enabled
- Electric and/or gas utility experience
- Working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile/Scrum software methodologies
- Familiarity with all aspects of Quality Assurance testing of software, including Unit, System and Regression testing
- Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
- Ability to work independently and with others, strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to consistently stage testing data for workflow test scenarios accurately and thoroughly while keeping track of the testing environments
- Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
- Experience with large-scale Systems Integrations projects preferred
- Esri Utility Network preferred

$50,000-$63,000 annually depending on location and experience
