Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a Sr. Technician Trial position to support the Salinas Valley and neighboring areas with our Watermelon, Lettuce, and Spinach crops. This is a remote role located in the Salinas Valley, CA area.
This position organizes, sets up, and executes trials as defined by the Local and Regional Specialists Product Development (SPD) in his/her local area/crops. Contributes to the local trial plan creation and this in consultation with the Local SPD and breeding teams when relevant. Assures those aspects related to the management of the culture, pursuing overall trial representativeness, that the crop ends its cycle in the trials without incidents and that the correct work of selection, evaluation is done with the necessary people involved.
Assures a correct evaluation and communication of the trial program results. Uses market understanding and data analysis, to make clear elevation proposals for the local market needs, aligned with the Local and Regional SPDs. Contributes to the local execution of Basic and Advanced product growing concept development trials. Acts as a technical support for the local sales team, providing local growing advice, variety information (based on experiences and data) and support demand creation and specific product related issues.

Provide elevation proposals and inputs about variety performance. Communicate & update trial plan advancements. Facilitate info exchange with stakeholders. Execution of local growing concept trials. Organizes and trains local temporary staff. Support sales with product related issues and demand creation.

- Requires domestic travel to visit trials and customers, up to 50% overnight travel.

- Mainly in the fields with a certain level of admin work.
- Open air work, working in unfavorable conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Physical/Manual Labor, regularly lifting more than 30 Lbs. is part of the job.
