About the Role
Roo is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, this position will be a key member of the Accounting team. This role will help build out a robust accounts receivable function at Roo. The key responsibilities will be centered around accounts receivable and working cross functionally to ensure timely payments from customers. This role will be hands-on with a long-term emphasis on building both internal and external partnership with key stakeholders that will scale with the Roo’s fast paced growth.
This Job is remote in any of the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, IL, MD, MI, MN, NY, NC, OR, PA, TX, UT, VA, and WA.
Your Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate is someone who will work independently, drive projects from concept to completion, communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating with people with diverse skills, all while operating in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Lead the invoicing and collections processes by working with the business development team to ensure accurate invoicing and timely payments.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records to ensure that customer accounts are reconciled and that all payments, deductions, and credits have been identified and processed while maintaining records in QBO
- Partner with Roo’s outsourced team to ensure transactions are entered on a weekly basis.
- Interact with customer service team and customers to resolve outstanding issues, discrepancies, and questions.
- Manage accounts receivable reporting across a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Support various cross-functional efforts from the lens of the accounting function.
- Monitor and verify accuracy of payment processor (Stripe) transactions.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and review company purchases for coding accuracy.
Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. degree (preferably in finance or accounting) or 2 year degree in accounting and relevant experience.
- 0-2 years of accounting/financial experience.
- Knowledge of QBO and Excel
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record at delivering against deadlines
