Description
We are seeking Student Financial Planning Advisor to work remotely on a full-time 37.5-hour per week basis. This position may also work in our Santa Barbara or Washington DC offices if desired.
Summary
The Student Financial Planning Advisor provides personalized financial aid counseling to students on all aspects of financial aid programs from all federal, state, university, and private loan and scholarships sources. This position is the first point of contact for prospective and current students’ questions regarding available financial aid, scholarships, payment options, and/or admissions inquiries. The Student Financial Planning Advisor supports and collaborates with Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Accounts to ensure cooperative cross-functional, cross-campus communications and dialogue by maintaining a close working relationship with all campus offices and provide comprehensive information and guidance to students, as well as other services/resources from other areas of the University.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, communication, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum four years’ experience in student financial aid, higher education administration, lending/finance, or in a related field that requires the interpretation and application of regulations and policies.
- Experience using computer database systems and federal software such as Colleague, NSLDS, and COD.
- Experience with federal student loan administration, scholarship administration, and borrower counseling is strongly preferred.
